quilt club australia bee#2

February for Waverlee

March for Jane

April me
May for Phillipa

Tracey for June
On Facebook there is an all Australian quilting group - Quilt Club Australia (QCA), I joined the second bee that started in February. Each month the allocated Queen Bee tells us what she wants made and we use our own stash to make the blocks for her. I was queen bee for April and wanted everyone to make a star flower block. I had made one of these last year for the bee in oz bee for Anorina and loved the simplicity of the design. The only requirement was the background fabric was to be all the same - organic cotton in natural from Spotlight. I asked everyone to buy a fat quarter or I could send them one and each fatquarter produced enough 5" squares to make 2 blocks. Lily has worked out the layout for her quilt and tomorrow I plan to finish putting it together so when I have time next week I can quilt it for her. Violet and Charlotte are also getting one as well, just need the time to put them together.

two months and a lot has happened

This post is going to work from now backwards, its easier that way.

Where to start, how about with miss Lily turned 4 on Saturday, she is growing up so quickly and a lovely big sister most of the time. She had an afternoon tea party with her preschool friends and then the extended family went to Rashay's in Narellan for for dinner. Violet is now 13 months old and cousin Charlotte is 8months old they all have fun together

Block for Dawnelle

Block for Tracey
Today I spent the day sewing it has rained and been cold and miserable all day, not the best public holiday weather but great for sewing. I made Tracey's paper pieced border star block  for quilt club Australia bee #2 and a rainbow star block for Dawnelle as part of block swap adventure2.
This week is the Sydney Quilt and Craft show at Darling Harbour and I have a casual job working for Studio Mio and you will find them at B32.
Tomorrow I will have a blood test to see if the medication the doctor has me on is working, a month ago I went to see my doctor as I had been unwell, well actually I ended up in hospital with a bladder infection. The previous blood test had shown that my thyroid was under active and had been  for a while so onto medication I went. It seems to be working but I'll wait and see.
