quilt club australia bee#2
February for Waverlee |
March for Jane |
April me |
May for Phillipa |
Tracey for June |
two months and a lot has happened
This post is going to work from now backwards, its easier that way.
Where to start, how about with miss Lily turned 4 on Saturday, she is growing up so quickly and a lovely big sister most of the time. She had an afternoon tea party with her preschool friends and then the extended family went to Rashay's in Narellan for for dinner. Violet is now 13 months old and cousin Charlotte is 8months old they all have fun together
Today I spent the day sewing it has rained and been cold and miserable all day, not the best public holiday weather but great for sewing. I made Tracey's paper pieced border star block for quilt club Australia bee #2 and a rainbow star block for Dawnelle as part of block swap adventure2.
This week is the Sydney Quilt and Craft show at Darling Harbour and I have a casual job working for Studio Mio and you will find them at B32.
Tomorrow I will have a blood test to see if the medication the doctor has me on is working, a month ago I went to see my doctor as I had been unwell, well actually I ended up in hospital with a bladder infection. The previous blood test had shown that my thyroid was under active and had been for a while so onto medication I went. It seems to be working but I'll wait and see.

On 20th April miss Violet turned 1, Granddad Steve did her dedication service at Camden Baptist and then we all had lunch at Kate and Graeme's house. Elizabeth and Jared came up from Melbourne for the weekend and we finally got some nice family photos

Not much sewing going on here but
Simplicity bias tape maker |
other goodies bought at Rosehill |
stripy fabric to make bias 30% off |
bib and backing fabric |
block party and grey prima 30%off |

Then Monday and Tuesday Spotlight had 30% off everything, the stripy fabric was $4 a metre minus 30% equals $2.80 a metre. Flannelette to back some fabric bought at IKEA to make more of these for Violet.
Block party and plain light grey prima from something in the future and organic fat flats - white, natural, lime green, yellow, light blue and hot pink.

Blocks from Natasha |
the stitching around the name |
a corner of the quilt |
My blocks (she made me 2 as she was late) from Natasha for January block swap adventure 2 arrived today in the mail. They are more orange than yellow, she must know I like wonky stars, aren't they great.
My mini quilt is on its way overseas I did flying geese in a ring adding the name of my partner to the top. The geese are a from charm pack of Kaffe Fasset and I hand quilted following the seam line with purple cotton perle. When my partner says she has received it I will show you the whole finished quilt,
